The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), has condemned the attack on its State secretariat on Monday by miscreants, who, according to the Party, have taken over the nationwide hunger and economic hardship protest in the State.
A statement by the Party’s Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris, said it could be recalled that the APC last Friday, cautioned the PDP-led State government against allowing alleged PDP thugs to vent their anger on the APC and its leaders, following the attack on Senator Sahabi Ya’u’s residence in Kaura Namoda, and the attempt to raze the immediate past Governor Matawalle’s residence in Gusau.
The APC has also pleaded with both the State government and security agencies to ensure full protection of people’s lives and property.
It said, “As we cautioned, the hoodlums have gone haywire, forcefully broke into the APC Secretariat situated along Sokoto Bye Pass in Gusau, destroyed the facility, including glasses, doors, and carted away furniture and equipment, as well as building materials that were kept in the office stores.”
“They also looted the mini-secretariat at the back of the main office, where all the furniture, computers, refrigerators and other valuables were carted away. We wish to state that this action is unacceptable and condemnable,” the statement read in part.
