Situation in some Parts of Jos North local Government area of Plateau State on Monday took another dimension as gang of Hoodlums in their numbers invaded the streets of Dilimi, Zololo Junction and University of Jos Permanent site, burning tires and destroying property despite the imposition of a 24-hour- curfew by the state Government.

Recall, that the #EndBadGovernance protest which began on the first of August in Plateau has been Peaceful with commendation on efforts of the leaders of the Protest who have insisted that the demonstration must be done with absolute decorum and it has remained so till Sunday 4th of August when an inter-denominational Sunday service was held by the protesters to pray for the nation.

The situation took a dangerous dimension on Sunday evening when some miscreants took advantage of the protests and attacked shops and Restaurants around Zololo Junction in Jos North, leading to the imposition of a 24-Hour Curfew by Governor Caleb Mutfwang in Jos and Bukuru Metropolis to ensure safety of citizens.

Despite the Curfew, a suspected group of miscreants on Monday morning in Jos North defied the curfew in the name of protest and were seen carrying Flags of other Countries and also brandishing knives, Sticks and other dangerous items, running round streets which led to confrontation with some security personnel on patrol.

The Plateau state Police command while confirming the development through it’s spokesman DSP Alfred Alabo, said the Police were deliberately attacked by the Miscreants but Four Suspects were arrested and are in the Custody of the State Command.

As at the time of filing in this report, a joint security meeting was convened at the Plateau state House by Governor Caleb Mutfwang.
