The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, has appealed to Nigerians, particularly the youth in the Niger Delta, to remain calm and avoid participating in the proposed nationwide protest.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Nneamaka Okafor, Lokpobiri acknowledged the frustrations and challenges faced by many Nigerians but emphasized the need for constructive approaches to addressing these issues.
He highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to revitalizing the economy and bringing renewed hope through well-thought-out policies and programmes.
Lokpobiri warned against those who might exploit the protest for malicious purposes, emphasizing the importance of unity and patience as the government works to address the nation’s diverse issues.

The Minister called for constructive engagement and dialogue over any action that could unsettle the nation.
He reassured Nigerians of President Tinubu’s commitment to their well-being, stating that the President is a true democrat who listens to the people and is already implementing measures to address the nation’s challenges.
In his heartfelt appeal, Senator Lokpobiri asked the youth and all Nigerians to support the government’s efforts, saying: “Let us work together to achieve the progress we all desire. Avoid actions that could jeopardize our collective future.”
