Ebonyi state Government has imposed a 24- hour curfew in all parts of the state, commencing from 7pm Wednesday.
Governor Umahi who announced the development in a statewide broadcast, also directs security agents to close all interstate borders.
The directive is coming just few hours after the Governor had directed authorities of the state owned Ebonyi State University to immediately reopen the institution for academic activities.

This Wednesday afternoon, suspected hoodlums allegedly hijacked the #EndSARS peaceful protests in Abakaliki, the state capital, burning down some public infrastructure and attacking government properties.
Governor Umahi alleges that the perpetrators are infiltrators from outside Ebonyi state and wants them to leave before the commencement of the curfew.
Meanwhile, security agents have been sighted at strategic junctions of the state capital, in an effort to restore normalcy in the state.
