More revelations about the unprofessional conduct of officers and men of the disbanded Special-Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, have emerged as the Rivers State Judicial Commission of Inquiry opens hearing on submitted memoranda.
Some of the witnesses namely Bright Nwabueze, Tamuodie Preye, Akaluogbo, Sandra Ehijiere, lucky Ezu, and Nodi Sylvanus in their different accounts narrated their ordeals in the hands of men of the SARS with passionate appeals to the panel to see that justice prevailed.
In the course of cross-examination, the police legal representative queried the authenticity of some of the evidence presented by the witnesses but the panel opposed the move with reference to the panel’s Modus Operandi.

After hearing testimonies from five witnesses, the panel rose for the day and promised to sit on a daily basis till it exhausts the 171 cases on its list.
