The Enugu State Government, Southeast Nigeria, has approved the construction and reconstruction of another set of 161 roads across the state, covering approximately 350 kilometers.
Out of these, 141 roads are urban, while the remaining will be rural roads spread across the State’s three Senatorial Districts.
This development was one of the key infrastructural approvals made over the weekend during the State Executive Council meeting, chaired by Governor Peter Mbah.
The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Chidiebere Onyia, who briefed Journalists on the outcome of the meeting, says the government is committed to doubling down on its infrastructural projects.
On developments in Sports, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Lloyd Ekweremadu, revealed that the Council has also approved plans for the renovation and total revamp of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, assuring that the refurbishing process has been scheduled in such a way that it will not interfere with the playing time of the State’s Football club, Rangers International.
