The Enugu State Government has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with a prominent private firm to revive the state-owned Universal Palm Produce Limited (UPPL).
The partnership will see to the revitalization of one of the agricultural and agro-industrialization projects initiated by the late Premier of the defunct Eastern Region, Dr. Michael Okpara, which has been dormant for years.
Governor Peter Mbah, at the signing held in Government House, Enugu, says the achievement represents a significant stride in his administration’s efforts to revive key assets in the state.
Mbah emphasized the historical importance and responsibilities Enugu state bears for Ndigbo, stating his government’s ambition to restore Enugu to its esteemed position in Nigeria’s historical narrative.
Drawing on his experience as a businessman and entrepreneur, Governor Mbah emphasized the importance of creating a conducive business environment.
He reassured investors of his government’s commitment to promoting business-friendly policies.
