Enugu State in South East Nigeria is on course to retaining its position as the cleanest State in the country for 2026, a title it earned last year.
The State government continued to invest heavily in environmental infrastructure with a new roll-out on Tuesday.
The latest effort is the unveiling of ten Refuse Compactor Trucks, two hundred of 2,000-capacity waste dump stands, and seven modern automated road sweepers.

Governor Peter Mbah, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Chidiebere Onyia, said at the event that the new assets mark a fresh approach to environmental management in the State.
He noted that the investment reflects the State government’s commitment to sustainability and its drive to making Enugu a clean, healthy and attractive place to live, do business and visit.
