Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has expressed shock and deep sadness at the news of the passing of popular Nollywood comic actor, John Okafor, widely known as Mr. Ibu.
In a statement shared on his official X account, Governor Mbah described the late Mr. Ibu as a veteran actor and celebrated entertainer who brought joy and laughter into countless homes.
The Governor acknowledged Mr. Ibu’s significant contributions to the entertainment industry, hailing him as a truly illustrious son of Enugu State.
“He played his part in our quest to build a new Enugu State and Nigeria at large, inspiring and mentoring generations of young creatives to believe in themselves, hone their talents and excel”, Mbah said.
Governor Mbah expressed condolences to Mr. Ibu’s family, fans, and loved ones, praying that the Almighty God grants the departed soul eternal rest and provides strength to those mourning the irreparable loss.
