Enugu State Government has demolished another building allegedly used as a kidnapping den. This time is in Umueze Awkunanaw village in Nkanu West Local Government Area.
The demolition followed a recent security raid on the property where a kidnapped victim was rescued and arms and ammunition recovered.
This house belongs to Igwenagu Ogbodo also known as Fela, a young man now suspected of running a kidnap den from his family house.
Security agencies say the suspect and some members of his gang are currently on the run after they escaped with various degrees of gunshot wounds when operatives stormed the property during a rescue operation.
But testimonies from residents of Umueze Awkunanaw paint a disturbing picture; they allege Igwenagu has long been notorious for criminal activities.

The demolition has left the villagers in shock and heartbroken, not just because a family house was brought down, but because the building was reportedly constructed by the suspect’s late mother, making the loss even more painful for relatives and neighbours.
For the Enugu State Government, the action sends yet another clear message that any property used, or allowed to be used, for kidnapping and related criminal activities will face the full weight of the law.
