In his effort to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the Enugu State, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of has distributed 1 million locally made face masks to residents in all the 17 local government areas of the State.
Governor Ugwuanyi who was represented at the event which held at the Michael Okpara Square by the Deputy Governor, Cecilia Ezeilo explained that the gesture is a demonstration of his administration’s proactive response since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
The Governor noted that his administration has remained in the frontline of tackling the Covid-19 through the provisions of palliatives and other measures to cushion its adverse effect on the people.
He encourages the residents of the state to always wear the face masks and correctly too, stressing that the use of the preventive measure was aimed at containing the spread of the virus.
Governor Ugwuanyi says over 30,000 youths in the State will be empowered through the production of the face masks by the State Government.
