Two high-impact security drones have now been added to the security architecture of Enugu State, in South-East Nigeria as Governor Peter Mbah on Monday commissioned the first batch of high-tech gadgets acquired through the Enugu State Security Trust Fund.
Also commissioned at the Command and Control Centre were 10 patrol vehicles, 40 motorcycles and hundreds of bullet-proof vests, all aimed at strengthening frontline operations across the State.
It is another major investment in the security infrastructure of Enugu State and the end goal remains the same, building a safer, more secure State.

This latest batch of high-impact gadgets, funded through the Enugu State Security Trust Fund launched about a year ago, makes for a significant upgrade.
Top on the list are the two newly-acquired high-range drones, designed to cover the entire State and even monitor adjoining territories with speed and precision.
Governor Mbah believes that violent crime in the State has dropped by more than 80% but, he notes that there is no room for complacency because, in his words, “criminals are not resting.”

This, he explains, is why the government will continue to push investments in technology-driven security.
The Governor has also given the Security Trust Fund a marching order to scale up its efforts, emphasising that state governments must consistently support the Federal Government in the fight against insecurity.
With the new tools now active, the next phase for the government will focus on data integration, strengthening community reporting systems, and expanding drone surveillance across all 17 Local Government Areas.
