The Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas, has called for the deployment of security forces to clear bandits from the forests, aiming for a greener Nigeria.
The Minister made this call during the 2024 retreat for top management of the Ministry in Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria.
The retreat for the Ministry of Environment’s top management addresses urgent environmental concerns and charts a course toward a greener Nigeria in 2024.
It also emphasises strategic planning aligned with global objectives outlined at the 2023 Conference of Parties on Climate Change for national implementation.
Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas in his address called for enhanced security to eradicate banditry from the nation’s forests and highlights the importance of forest preservation, renewable energy utilisation, and safeguarding natural habitats for a greener Nigeria.
The Minister further assures of synergy between different departments and agencies of the Ministry for the realisation of a greener Nigeria and the preservation of its ecosystem.
