Nigerian representatives in this year’s CAF Confederation cup Football competition Enyimba International of Aba are stranded in Morocco and risk failing to get to Tunisia in time for their qualifying match against Libyan opponents Al Itihad.
Speaking with AIT Live from the airport in Morocco where they are held up, Chairman of the club Felix Anyansi Agwu said it has been a really harrowing experience as the entire team has not had sleep for more than two days.

“We started this journey about three days ago only to get to Morocco to be held up at the airport over covid-19 issues”, starts Anyansi Agwu who said that the Confederation of African Football CAF did not make it compulsory for the team to provide covid 19 vaccination certificate before embarking on the trip.
” We are however in touch with CAF via the Nigerian Football Federation NFF to have this resolved. But I must confess that this smacks of a ploy to weaken us since everyone in sports knows that adequate sleep is very essential in preparation for any engagement. But we beg Nigerians for prayers and trust God to give us strength to survive “.
The longstanding Administrator of Nigeria’s most successful football club also commended the efforts of the various Nigerian embassies in the Maghreb nations for what they are doing so far to get the team out the hole they currently find themselves.
