Establishment Of North East Development Commission Last Hope For Displaced People- Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima says the Establishment of the North East Development Commission is the last hope, intervention and renewed life for the people displaced by terrorism and insurgency in the region.

The Vice President said this at the official inauguration of the board of the North East Development Commission at the Presidential Villa Abuja.

The reconstituted board of the North East Development Commission has the mandate to ensure adequate provision of palliatives to cue in President Bola Tinubu pronouncement of ensuring food security to the people as well as completion of ongoing construction projects

Vice President Shetima says the commission is to provide access to quality education, healthcare, economic opportunities, among others.

The Chairman of the governing board of the commission says the commission will embark on its assignment with determination to bring about renewed hope to the people.

Speaking to state house correspondents Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum says the governors of the region will provide the desired leadership and work with the commission for the development of the entire region.

The North East Development Commission was established through an act of the National Assembly to receive funds for the development and integration of the people displaced by the activities of insurgents and terrorism in the region.
