The planned evacuation of stranded Nigerians from the United Kingdom suffered a delay as British authorities denied Nigerian carrier, Air Peace landing permit. This was disclosed in a statement by the spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ferdinand Nwonye this Sunday.
The statement explained that the flight which was earlier scheduled to depart on Monday, July 13 from London Heathrow has now been rescheduled to Tuesday July 14 from Gatwick Airport London. It further added that the changes became necessary following the unexpected decline by the British Government to grant Diplomatic Landing Clearance to Air Peace airlines.

The Federal Government has however appealed to Air Peace to engage the services of an alternative Airline to airlift stranded Nigerian citizens instead of refunding their payments, hence the use of Air Partner, one of the Global Air Charter companies advised by the British authorities.
