Nigeria’s former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, FCT and one-time Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Solomon Ewuga, has died at the age 70.
Nasarawa State chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Aliyu Bello and Speaker of the State House Assembly, Danladi Jatau confirmed that the elder statesman died Tuesday while battling with an undisclosed illness.
Ewuga, a respected lawyer and politician, held several strategic positions during his decades-long career in public service and had earlier served as Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State before his appointment as Minister of State for the FCT, where he played a key role in policy formulation and development initiatives.
Late Ewuga, renowned for his bridge-building politics, was admired across party lines due to his dedication to education, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.
According to his contemporaries, the death of Solomon Ewuga, who represented Nasarawa North at the 7th Nigerian senate, marks the passing of one of Nasarawa’s most influential political figures.
Funeral arrangements and official statements from the family are expected to be announced in due course.
