Doyin Okupe, former Presidential spokesperson to ex-Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, has been buried in his hometown Iperu-Remo, Ogun State.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, and dignitaries from across the country attended the burial ceremony at the Methodist Church
Okupe passed away in Lagos at the age of 72 on March 7.
He served as Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and later as Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.
Okupe also held the position of Director-General for Peter Obi’s 2023 Presidential campaign. In December 2022, he stepped down from Obi’s campaign after being convicted of violating certain provisions of the Money Laundering Act.
