Contrary to widespread reports of a siege on the residence of the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Professor Mahmood Yakubu in Bauchi State, North-East Nigeria, AIT’s findings have indicated this to be untrue.
Our correspondent in Bauchi State who went round the family house of Professor Yakubu as well as his residence along Sir Kashim Ibrahim Road, reports peace and calm as further confirmed by his younger brother, Umar Sabo.
Chief Press Secretary to the INEC chairman Rotimi Oyekanmi, in a statement on Saturday also clarified that the property purported to have been attacked by some youths in a video circulating on social media does not belong to Professor Mahmood Yakubu.
