Nigeria has joined the global 2020 sixteen day sensitization walk across the country to end sexual and gender based violence.
The event seeks to create awareness on the need to give the female gender pride of place in contributing to development across the globe.
The global awareness annually is to seek a more efficient way to end all forms of violence against female gender.

The National Human Rights Commission led by its executive secretary , Tony Ojukwu, urges victims to seek redress despite the spike in recent times
According to him, between March and June 2020, a total of 232 various forms of violence against women and girls were recorded by the commission.
The 16 days advocacy will take place simultaneously across the 36 states of Nigeria.
