The General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Maxwell Dangana, has commended cadets of the Nigerian Defence Academy for demonstrating battlefield readiness during Exercise Camp Highland.
Dangana spoke at the Battle Inoculation and Fire Power Demonstration at the Nigerian Army Table Hill, Kachia, Kaduna State.
Exercise Camp Highland is the final outdoor exercise for Army cadets of Regular Course 73 and Short Service Course 49, ahead of their presidential commissioning into the Nigerian Armed Forces.
It is designed to test leadership, endurance, tactical manoeuvring, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
The Battle Inoculation and Fire Power Demonstration placed the cadets in a simulated combat environment, culminating in a deliberate attack on the last enemy camp.
The exercise began with adventure training, map reading, and tactical exercises before the cadets moved to Kachia for the battlefield firing phase.
Major General Maxwell Dangana says the realistic employment of live fire and battlefield effects gives the cadets practical experience that can not be fully acquired in the classroom.

He says the commission the cadets are preparing to receive represents a solemn responsibility, with the lives of soldiers, success of missions, and reputation of the Armed Forces depending on their competence, courage, and character.
The GOC says the evolving security environment requires officers capable of adapting to changing forms of warfare.
He urged the cadets to embrace continuous learning, innovation, and professional development as they prepare for commissioning.
