Delta State Police Commissioner, Ari Mohammed has ordered the immediate detention of the police patrol team involved in the alleged killing of Gift Ojarikre, the twenty-nine years old birthday celebrant at Obinomba Community, Ukuwani Local Government Area of the State.
Late Gift Ojarikre was shot on the thighs, Friday night of September 24th at his birthday party by a trigger-happy Police Officer in Obinomba Community, Ukwuani Council Area.
The detained officers had averred to be in pursuit of a cult group that murdered another youth in Obiaruku that night when they ran into the birthday celebration of late Gift and his friends at a wine bar in Obinomba community.

ait. live gathered that the culpable police team from Obiaruku Divisional Headquarters will remain in detention until an investigation into the real cause of what led to the death of Gift Ojarikre is unraveled.
It would be recalled that the member representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, at the House of Representatives, Ossai Nicholas Ossai, has moved a motion of public urgent importance on the alleged murder of a birthday celebrant identified as Gift Ojarikre, by the police in Delta State.
