As Nigeria mourns the tragic loss of 11 military officers who died in Friday air crash near Kaduna International Airport, friends and relatives of members of the flight crew have gone on social media to talk about the lives and unforgettable moments they shared

As Nigerians come to terms with what happened on Friday evening, friends have helped piece together the identities of the airmen beyond the profession which they loved

They include FLIGHT LIEUTENANT T.O. ASANIYI,  FLIGHT LIEUTENANT A. A OLUFADE, SERGEANT ADESINA, ACM OYEDEPO.

These were the crew that flew the ill-fated jet with some of them as family men

Flight-Lieutenant T.O. Asaniyi for instance is said to have concluded plans for his wedding next month while Flight-Lieutenant A.A Olufade had just two months ago, tied the knot at a colorful and well-attended wedding.

His friend Ahmed Kabir, tweeting with the handle @Sir_KB posted this tribute:

“My heart is in pain. I lost my friend. Flight Lt. A.A Olufade.
He got hitched months back and often tease to get out of bachelorhood. Rest Well, Freddy.”

Also, Halima tweeting via the handle @Gaabdo_ wrote “Three months ago we were rejoicing. Today we mourn you’ll live on forever in our hearts Flt Lt. AA Olufade!

Other deceased flight crew were Sergeant Adesina and ACM Oyedepo.

Their youthfulness and energy has made their loss very painful for many, reminiscent of the death of Nigeria’s first female combat helicopter pilot, Tolulope Arotile who died tragically after being run over by a car barely a year ago.
