Nigeria’s Under Twenty Women’s football team, the Falconets will tonight battle Germany in their second game at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The Falconets secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Korea Republic in their first match at the Estadio El Techo in Bogota, Colombia, on Sunday night.
Speaking after the win, Falconets’ head coach told reporters that he was confident of his team’s ability to play better against Germany.
This will be the fifth encounter between the two nations, with Nigeria still searching for their first win against Germany in the competition, they lost in the finals in 2010 and 2014.
Nigeria are in second position in Group D with three points and plus one goal difference.
They are behind leaders Germany, who currently top the group with three points and plus three goals difference after beating Venezuela 5-2 in their first game on Sunday.
While South Korea and Venezuela are in third and fourth positions with no point.
Nigeria’s match with Germany will take place at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo, Bogota.at 11 pm Nigerian time
