Family members describe shooting of Felix Sowore as Shocking

Members of the Sowore family have described the sudden demise of Felix Olajide Sowore in the hands of yet to be identified gunmen, Felix Sowore who is the immediate younger brother to founder of Sahara reporters an online media platform , Omoyele Sowore was shot in the early hours of Saturday along Benin/ Okada road.

He had celebrated his 48th birthday last month, before the unfortunate incident.

Akin Sowore, who is the immediate younger brother of the deceased, while speaking to Newsmen in Akure, the Ondo State capital said the killing of his senior brother was unfortunate, urging the police to quickly track his killers.

He advised the Nigerian Government to find lasting solutions to the security challenges confronting the nation.

He however noted that the circumstances surrounding the death of his brother calls for serious concern.

Meanwhile the Edo State Police Command has confirmed the death of Sowore Felix Olajide in the hands of suspected kidnappers.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Kontongs Bello in a press release on Saturday said the incident that led to his death happened at about 6.45 am along the Lagos Benin Express way by Isuwa where Felix Sowore, was kidnapped with five others.

Felix Sowore who until his death was a student of Pharmacy in Igbinedion University, Okada was shot to death.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, his remains has been deposited at Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital, IUTH, mortuary in Okada while effort is ongoing to rescue the five other unidentified kidnap victims.
