
The Federal Capital Territory’s bulldozers have returned to the Iddo Sarki community along the University of Abuja axis off the Airport Road in a fresh demolition exercise to remove illegal structures in the area.

The demolition was earlier suspended by the ministerial task team on city sanitation following an appeal by the original inhabitants of Abuja to have a stakeholder meeting to convince the people to vacate without forceful eviction.

The demolition however resumed on Tuesday morning as the ministerial task team moved in with hundreds of security operatives.
Residents the community were thrown into confusion after the task team arrived the community as they hastened to rescue what they could from their houses.
Others burst into tears after their buildings were pulled down, blaming the government and original inhabitants who sold land to them for their misfortune
Over one thousand residents are now left stranded including students of the University of Abuja.
