The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has secured adjournment to November 27, 2024 in the fresh case instituted against the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, saying the 30 days window for the summons earlier issued by the Court, was still running.
At the the proceedings on Thursday, before Justice Marynn Anenih of the Federal Capital Territory High Court Abuja, Counsel for the EFCC, Jamiu Agoro told the court that the two other defendants, Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu, charged alongside former Governor Yahaya Bello had been given administrative bail, but prayed the Court for an extension of time for the former Kogi State Governor, who is the first defendant in the new case to appear in court.
The Prosecution Counsel also asked the Court to grant an application for substituted service by pasting the Notice of hearing on the last known address of ex Governor Yahaya Bello.

ait.live Judicial Correspondent reports that the Counsel for the 2nd and 3rd Defendants, did not oppose to the submissions made by the Prosecution team.
After listening to all Counsel the trial Judge, Justice Marynn Anenih granted the EFCC’s applications made by the Cousel to the EFCCf, that on substituted service on Hearing Notice, while the Court adjourned to November 27 for arraignment.
The former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello alongside two co-accused persons, Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu, are being prosecuted in a fresh 16-count charge on corrupt practices and money laundry instituted against them by the Nigerian anti-graft agency, EFCC.
