The operatives of the FCT Police command have arrested a 38 year old Chukwuemeka Oputa popularly known as Pounds and Dollar the leader of an armed robbery gang responsible for series of armed robberies and other heinous crimes in FCT.
Chukwuemeka Oputa a native of Umuaka, Njaba of Imo state was arrested following the arrest of one Moses Hassan from Idda, Kogi State, a cultist, and member of the armed robbery gang.

In a statement signed by the police public Relations officer FCT Command Josephine Adeh, said Further Investigation led police operatives to the arrest of three other gang members, Praise Etta, Rafael Dav and Thomas Akange,
The statement said All the suspects have since confessed to be involved in a series of armed robberies and other heinous crimes in FCT and are also members of a confraternity cult group called Vikings.

Exhibits recovered from them include four locally fabricated AK47 rifles, three locally made rifles using cartridges, English pistol, one locally made pistol and a Dane gun
Others are three AK47 ammunitions, a 5.56mm assault ammunition, and an empty cartridge.
The statement said while efforts are being made to recover other exhibits in possession of the suspects, the Commissioner of Police FCT, Benneth Igweh, wishes to reiterate his unflinching commitment to make FCT unhabitable for criminals
