The FCT Police Command has deployed one thousand, eight hundred and three (1,803) personnel and operational assets, to churches and recreational centres across the Federal Capital Territory to maintain law and order during the 2026 Easter celebration.
In a statement signed by the police public relations Officer FCT command Josephine Adeh the proactive measure is designed to reinforce existing policing efforts and ensure the safety of worshippers and residents throughout the festive period.
The statement said the deployment includes enhanced visibility policing, intelligence-led operations, coordinated vehicular and foot patrols, and continuous monitoring aimed at the prompt detection and prevention of criminal activities.

The statement added that Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Units have been tasked with conducting routine sweeps of major public and recreational locations to mitigate potential security threats.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi while felicitating with Christian faithful across the Territory, urged residents to embrace the spirit of Easter by promoting peace, unity, and mutual respect.
He called on all residents to remain law-abiding and encouraged religious leaders to continue preaching messages of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
