This next story will certainly interest vehicle owners in the federal capital territory who have at one time or the other lost their cars to thieves in parts of Abuja.

The Commissioner of police FCT Command Ajao Adewale has confirmed the recovery of over 21 Vehicles of different brands from suspected criminals across the six Area Commands in the Federal Capital Territory in the month of April, 2025 alone.
‎
Commissioner of Police ‎Ajao gave the confirmation during the end of the month media briefing at the FCT police command headquarters in Garki, Abuja.

‎Crimes and criminalities have continued to evolve globally and the Federal Capital Territory and indeed the entire Nigeria have had their own fair share of the social vices.
‎
The police and other security agencies have also being improving on tactics and strategies to effectively tackle all emerging crimes such as kidnapping, extra judicial killing, manholes vandalism and one chance syndicate, with a view to ensuring a more secured society.

It does however appear that the criminals have shifted attention to car hijacking and theft with the FCT police commissioner Ajao Adewale, confirming that over twenty one different brands of vehicles were recovered from suspects in the month of April

According to him, fifteen suspects were arrested in connection with car theft with over one thousand, six hundred and eleven others nabbed for other criminal Offences.
‎
He therefore appealed to residents and visitors to the territory to always assist the police with necessary information to help tackle crimes and criminalities in the Territory, especially the criminal elements terrorizing innocent citizens of Abuja.
‎
‎According to CP Ajao, the perculiar nature of the Federal Capital Territory and the limited human resources make policing the nation’s capital city difficult hence the adoption of a multi agency approach to crime fighting in Abuja.

‎Items recovered from all the suspects included large quantities of cannabis, tramadol, codeine, ziphanol, Exol, diazepam, and other narcotics

Also recovered from the suspects are 149 mobile phones, 14 laptops, 10 tablets, 109 ATM cards, 15 motorcycles, 10 POS machines, and two generating sets.
