A major part of the money Extorted from residents by erring police officers in the Federal Capital Territory have been recovered and handed over to the victims.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer Josephine Ade, arrangements are ongoing for the refund of the balance in due time.She said the officers involved in the act will be made to face disciplinary actions
The statement said Sequel to the viral video incident involving allegations of Police harassment and extortion at Chikakore Bridge, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Adewale Ajao ordered series of investigative sessions at the Command Headquarters with the complainants, their legal representatives, and the involved Police officers.

In line with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, the Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, supervised the investigative process to ensure fairness and transparency leading to the determination of the case on 3rd July 2025.
The statement said the public will be kept abreast of the final refund status as well as the outcome of the administrative actions taken against the officers involved. Disciplinary procedures have commenced in line with established Police regulations.
