The Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory police command have rescued a military officer from his abductors and reunited him with his family.
The Police public Relations officer FCT Police Command Josephine Adeh in a statement said the victim, whose identity was not disclosed was abandoned at Guraka village in Nasarawa State following a proactive step taken by the command.
The statement said Upon receiving the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer from Dawaki swiftly led his patrol team while he alerted all Police checkpoints and key entry and exit points into the Federal Capital Territory.
The statement said the decisive response enabled the successful rescue of the officer and his reunion with his family on the same night.
The Command PPRO said Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspects who abandoned the victim and fled into the bush in Garaku, Nasarawa State.
Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, has urged all residents of the FCT to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious individuals or activities to relevant security authorities.
