FEC honours Lateef Jakande as Buhari chairs 34th virtual cabinet meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari is chairing the 34th virtual meeting of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Physically in attendance are Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari and the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno.

Six Ministers are physically attending the meeting.

They are the Ministers of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fasola; Women Affairs, Mrs. Pauline Talen; Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Adamu; Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Mohammed Bello; Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; as well as Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed.

The Head of Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan and other Ministers are participating in the weekly council meeting from their various offices in Abuja.

Before the commencement of proceedings, council members observed a minute silence in honour of former Governor of Lagos State, Lateef Jakande.

Alhaji Jakande served in the Federal Executive Council between November 1993 and March 1995 as Minister of Works and Housing.
