The Executive Council of the Federation has approved the constituting of a technical committee to reassess the integrity of dams across the country.
Council during Monday’s meeting at the presidential Villa, Abuja, also approved the termination of some contracts in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja with a view to finding suitable contractors to complete the projects.
Addressing Journalists after the executive council of the federation meeting on Monday, minister of information and national orientation Mohamed Idris alongside some other ministers told Journalists about the various projects and policies approved by council.

The minister of water Resources told Journalists that in view of the recent flooding in some states across the federation, president Bola Tinubu saw the need to assess the integrity of Dams across the country to avert situations like that of Maiduguri that led to loss of lives and property.
The minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, explained why the executive council terminated some contracts in the state capital.
Other approvals by the council are for construction of more roads in selected areas across the country by the ministry of works, the beginning of a new curriculum for schools that will promote national values and the establishment of national citizen’s value Bridgett in primary schools.
