In its bid to provide safe drinking water for domestic as well as agricultural purposes, the Federal Government has commissioned some water projects in Kano and Jigawa States.
Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Professor Joseph Utse who inaugurated the projects executed said, they are part of efforts to enhance access to safe water and promote sustainable development in Nigeria.
According to the Minister, the water bottling and treatment facility in Kano established by the Federal government aims at increasing access to safe and potable water supply for the socio-economic use of the people of Kano Metropolis.
While in Kano, Professor Joseph inspected a company that produces various water production infrastructure emphasizing on the need for standard production of materials that will stand the test of time.
The minister ended his working visit in Jigawa state where a one thousand liters of overhead steel water tank and another two thousand liters corrugated surface steel hybrid solar inverter water tanks were commissioned to provide water to about one thousand two hundred households in Birnin Kudu Local area of the state.
