The Federal Government says it remains committed to addressing the daunting security situation in the country.
Chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari made gave the commitment when he represented the president at a meeting in Kaduna, with Northern Governors, Traditional Rulers, the Inspector General of Police, and other stakeholders in the Northern region.
The Kangara school boys abduction, kidnapping of passengers in Niger State, Sasa Market Crisis, among other security concerns, were the focus of the meeting.
The Chairman, Northern Governors’ Forum, Simon Lalong, urged the governors in the region to redouble their efforts to overcome the situation.
Lalong also highlighted the need for Nigerians to guard against utterances that could put the country in further jeopardy.

The Chairman, Council of Chiefs and Sultan Of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, called for fairness and justice in the treatment of Nigerians, irrespective where they came from.
The forum constituted twelve committees to profer solutions to the security challenges in Northern Nigeria
