The Federal Government has inaugurated a task force on substandard and counterfeit agriculture products in Nigeria.
The task force, which has the mandate to ensure the standardisation of Nigeria’s agricultural products and its acceptance by the international community, was advised to ensure that only produce that meets international standards are found in the marketplace.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Agriculture Ministry, ,represented it’s Value Chain desk officer Rasaq Oyeleke said the move is expected to help in tackling the production, distribution of substandard and counterfeit agricultural products in the country.
He advised the committee to work assiduously in ensuring the enhancement of food security and improved quality of local and exported foods in the country in line with the federal government’s efforts to diversify the economy with a sharper focus on agriculture as a major revenue generating alternative to oil.
