The Federal Polytechnic, Ede says it has constituted another committee to review the cases of twenty seven students initially expelled from the institution and eight others suspended for their roles in a violent protest in the institution months ago .
Chairman of the Governing Council of the institution, Prof Taiwo Olaiya disclosed this during the council’s inaugural meeting.
It started with a midnight raid by the EFCC on Owode Ede community , largely populated by students of the institution, a development that triggered a violent protest by the students which led to the expulsion of twenty seven of them and suspension of eight others for their alleged roles in the protest.

The latest development is however an opportunity for the affected students to prove their Innocence as the institution has constituted another committee to re- examine the cases of the affected students.
Though, authorities at the institution agreed that protest is a right, they frowned at the destruction of properties during the protest and warned students of the institution to be mindful of their conduct.
Expectations are high as a new Governing Council for the institution just had her first council meeting with a commitment that bold steps will be taken to ensure the institution becomes the pride of the nation.
