Music is clearly in the genes of the Kuti family,Nearly 25 years after the death of the Nigerian music legend, Fela Anikulapo-kuti, his son, Femi, and grandson Made Kuti, are taking Afro-beat sound to the next level.

On stage, Made Kuti bears a striking resemblance to his grandfather, who commanded a strong stage presence, often with a painted face.

Shirtless, with a saxophone strapped across his chest, he runs his fingers over the saxophone, leading his group.

His first album, “free your mind,” was released in February 2021.

Femi Kuti and Made were nominated for this year’s Grammys.

It is the first Grammy nomination for 26-year-old Made Kuti, and the 5th for Femi Kuti, who started his career at the age of 17, alongside his father, not forgetting Seun Kuti, who was also once nominated for a grammy in 2018.
