The Federal Executive Council FEC has approved more provisional licenses for the establishment of 11 new private universities in Nigeria.
The newly approved private universities are:
New City University, Ayetoro, Ogun State
University of Fortune, Igbotako, Ondo State
Eranova University, Mabushi, Abuja
Minaret University, Ikirun, Osun State
Abubakar Toyin University, Oke-Agba, Kwara State
Southern Atlantic University, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State
Lens University, Ilemona, Kwara State
Monarch University, Iyesi-Ota, Ogun State
Tonnie Iredia University of Communication, Benin City, Edo State
Isaac Balami University of Aeronautics and Management, Lagos
Kevin Eze University, Mgbowo, Enugu State
Council also approved a new compliance regime to counter unlicensed, unregulated and under reported mining areas in renewed efforts to sanitise the sector.
At its meeting held on Monday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the federal cabinet members led by President Bola Tinubu also approved contract for the completion of the dualization of Oyo-Ogbomoso road in Oyo state.
Again, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu shows up at the council chambers of the Presidential Villa to take charge of proceedings of another cabinet meeting which considered and approved several memos from government ministries, departments and agencies.
Certainly not a bad day for Works Minister, Dave Umahi whose memo for the dualisation of a major road project in Oyo State got council’s endorsement.
The federal government is expected to spend 147 billion Naira to complete the dualization of the Oyo-Ogbomoso road in Oyo state.
