Political stakeholders in Abia State, South East Nigeria, have risen from a meeting in Umuahia, with a call to the State and Federal Governments to pay more attention to the welfare and employment of the youths.
At a non partisan stakeholders meeting, which was geared towards deepening government’s commitment to the demands of the youths, the leaders say, that is the way to guarantee peace and safety in the country.
Declaring the meeting open, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, observed that the current destruction of public and private infrastructure by the youths is not the solution to their yeanings.
He insists that the youths must be fully and gainfully engaged.

The Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Uche Ogah and other stakeholders at the meeting, appealed for calm in the country, believing that when youths are gainfully employed, Nigeria will move forward.
At the end of the meeting, the stakeholders resolved to engage the youths in dialogues at the various communities, while urging them to sheath their swords and follow the path of peace.
