The federal government has flagged off the distribution of relief materials to victims of the 2024 flood disaster across various Local Governments in Ondo State.
Minister of Regional development, Abubakar momoh while Speaking at the flag off in Akure, the state capital said the gesture was part of Government’s drive to bring succour to affected victims in the state.
Many communities especially in Ilaje and ondo west Local Government areas of ondo state were ravaged by flood this year leaving many property worth millions of naira destroyed.
In his first official assignment outside the federal capital territory, Abuja since assuming office as Minister of Regional development, Abubaka momoh is in Ondo state to commence distribution of relief materials to affected victims.

The minister while addressing stakeholders said Presentation of relief materials will be replicated in the entire 9 states of the Niger Delta region to bring succour to flood victims within the zone.
Representatives of Ondo state Government and other Stakeholders commended the Federal Government for the initiative.
The minister thereafter disclosed the ministry’s intention to ensure relief items get to those whom they are meant for to forestall any form of diversion .
Items distributed include Motorcycles, sewing machines, grinding machines, Cooking stoves and food commodities.
