FG, Dangote Refinery Working Out Naira-For-Crude Project After Deadline

Nigeria’s Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, says the Federal Government will not intervene in the pricing of petroleum products so as to encourage private investors.

The Minister who speaking alongside Nigerian billionaire and President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday.

The meeting with President Tinubu also included the Committee for Implementation of Naira-for-Crude with Edun saying all parties involved will ensure the Naira for Crude Project succeeds.

He added that the financial provider to African governments and private businesses, Afreximbank will be the go between for NNPC Limited and Dangote Petroleum Refinery.

It will be recalled that President Tinubu had directed that the Naira-for-Crude Supply between NNPC Limited and Dangote Petroleum Refinery should take off on October 1 but almost one month after it is yet to be implemented.

Nigerian billionaire and President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, told State House correspondents that his company has enough petrol in stock to wipe out long queues across the country with the refinery currently producing at a minimum of 30 million litres per day.
