The Federal Government has approved three weeks extension for subscribers with the National Identification Number, NIN to re-register their SIM cards by January 19, 2021. The earlier deadline was December 30, 2020.

Meanwhile, there is an additional six weeks extension for subscribers without NIN to re-register their SIM cards on or before February 1, 2021.

The decision followed a meeting between the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami with major stakeholders in the telecommunications industry.
