The Nigerian government has assured that the newly redesigned, Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, will address malnutrition among children across the country, when it resumes.

Yetunde Adeniji, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on School Feeding programme, gave this assurance during the launch of the Value for Money Study research in Kaduna.

The earlier suspension of the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme by the Federal Government, was intended to address inefficiencies and bottlenecks, within the programme.

The pause has led to the launch of the comprehensive “Value for Money” Study, designed to evaluate the programme’s effectiveness and sustainability.

During the launch in Kaduna, Yetunde Adeniji explained that the Value for Money research, an initiative of the Federal Government, also aims to assess the nutritional impact of the programme.

Professor Mohammed Bello, Kaduna State Commissioner for Education, who delivered the Deputy Governor’s address, noted that the Value for Money Study, will help eradicate inefficiencies, and ensure school children across Nigeria, derive maximum benefits from the initiative.

A key aspect of the school feeding programme, is its community value chain, which has been praised for its local impact.
