In a major push to tackle Nigeria’s housing deficit, the Federal Government says it is set to break ground on a 500,000-unit Mega Renewed Hope City within the FCT, Nasarawa corridor, a project aimed at expanding housing supply and easing pressure on Abuja.
The Minister of Housing and Urban Development,. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, disclosed this during an inspection of the proposed 5,000-hectare site at Aso-B in Mararaba, Nasarawa State.

The project located between Abuja and Nasarawa, according to the minister is designed as a master-planned urban district to support residential, commercial and social infrastructure growth.
The city will comprise six districts, which are Kabuso, Guruku, Yelwa, Gbagalape, A.A. Sule and Kudu with provisions for mixed-income housing, business hubs, schools, healthcare facilities and green areas.

The project will be delivered through a Public–Private Partnership arrangement, with inter-ministerial collaboration covering financing and major road infrastructure.
The foundation-laying ceremony, marking what officials describe as a significant step in Nigeria’s urban renewal and housing reform efforts is expected to be performed by President Bola Tinubu.
