The Nigerian government has dismissed recent reports from the United States regarding the country’s security situation, calling them a wrong perception and misrepresentation of fact.
Speaking at a briefing in Abuja, the Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris emphasized that government has made notable strides in combating terrorism and insurgency over the past two years.
This response comes amid heightened tensions between Nigeria and the US, following US President Donald Trump’s threat of military action over allegations of Christian persecution in Nigeria.
The Nigerian government maintains that its laws ensure religious freedom and that terrorism is a primary challenge facing the nation regardless of faith or ethnicity.

The minister however says the administration of President Tinubu is willing to collaborate with international partners including the United States to permanently end the challenges of Security across the country.
