In a renewed push to boost the morale and welfare of military personnel and national security, the federal government has ordered the speedy completion of a 1,550-unit housing project for the Nigerian Army in Abuja.
The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, at the inspection of the 1550 – unit Nigeria army housing project in Abuja, says the directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu underscores the administration’s commitment to modern, secure, and fully serviced accommodation for military personnel.

Dangiwa further noted that the initiative is aimed at reviving the barracks system where members of the armed forces are properly housed within a secure and well planned community noting that the estate is designed as a fully integrated residential community complete with critical infrastructure and ancillary facilities.
He added that the 6.5 kilometers dualised access road linking the estate to Kubwa highway under construction is aimed to improve connectivity and open up the area for development

Speaking during the inspection, the representative of the developer expressed confidence in meeting the delivery timeline while commending the Tinubu led administration for its commitment to the welfare of the armed forces.
Also present at the inspection was the minister of state for housing and urban development, the permanent secretary and directors of the ministry.
The housing project forms a special presidential intervention, comprising one, two and three bedroom bungalows delivered under the renewed Hope agenda housing programme as directed by president Bola Ahmed Tinubu to improve the welfare and living condition of military personnel.
