FG Partners Chinese Company On Lithium Minning

A Chinese company, Ganfeng Lithium Limited, is to work with the Nigerian government to commence the construction of a 250 million-dollar lithium factory in Nasarawa State.

The groundbreaking ceremony to commence the Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited factory in Endo community of Udege Development Area in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state, was done by the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake

The groundbreaking ceremony by Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited is to kickstart a project which fits into the desire of the Nasarawa state government and the Tinubu administration on value addition and job creation for Nigerians as the proposed factory will produce lithium batteries in the country

The minister of solid minerals development, Dele Alake assured the management of Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited that government would do everything possible to discourage the export of solid minerals without value addition.

President of Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited, Pan Quen said the mega factory, when completed, would process 18,000 metric tons of lithium per day and 4.5 million metric tons annually.

He explained further that the project has a duration of 24 months and will provide 2,500 direct and 15,000 indirect jobs to Nigerians.

The host, Governor Abdullahi Sule said that the Nasarawa State government would encourage investors by creating the enabling environment for the growth and sustainability of the factory.

The governor thanked everyone present at the project commencement, especially the owners of Ganfeng Limited for considering Nasarawa State in sighting the factory.
