The Federal Government says work is progressing on the ₦75.47 billion Potiskum–Jakusko–Gashua Section One road project in Yobe State, with completion expected in May 2026.
During a media inspection of federal road projects in the state, the Minister of Works, David Umahi, represented by the Federal Controller of Works in Yobe, Nasir Dauda, said the project, awarded in 2024, is being constructed using reinforced concrete pavement technology to improve durability.
The team also inspected and commissioned selected road interventions, including a 490-metre emergency project at the College of Administration, Management and Technology, Potiskum, as well as rehabilitation works on Hayin Gada and the 8.8-kilometre Damagun–Gubana Road.
Residents say the projects are expected to ease movement and support local economic activities.
The Federal Controller of Works confirmed that contractors have resumed full operations, expressing confidence that the project will be delivered within the agreed timeline.
